AUGUST Meeting:
The August meeting at
Toys for Tots: At the July meeting, it was voted on for the club to
donate toys to the Marine Corp Toys for Tots.
Please bring a new, unwrapped toy for this good cause. When you bring in
your toy, your name will be entered into a drawing. At the November meeting, we
will draw for either a nugget or some panning bags that Tom has donated. The November meeting will be the last meeting
you will be able to bring toys. If you
would rather give some cash, see me and I will see that the money goes for some
good toys.
Attendance Raffle: At the July meeting, the club voted to start giving away a small nugget
at each meeting. When you sign your
attendance raffle slip, place it in my pink gold pan. We will then draw from
the pan. The winner will receive this nice nugget. We are still having the attendance raffle in
November as well.
Raffles: There will be another nugget in the raffle; this is a
gram size nugget. So buy a lot of raffle
tickets.
September Meeting:
The September outing will be
at Randy and Missy Mays. The date is
Sept. 12, 13, and 14. Plan on attending
this fun event. There will be a meeting,
metal detector hunt and pot luck. Best of all, I will be there. If you need
directions, just give me a call. I will have
more info in the Sept. Newsletter.
Lathrop Heritage Days:
It that time of year for the
Lathrop Heritage Days. Each year in
October, Lathrop has a festive demonstrating different old time skill and
crafts. We set up a panning demo. On
Friday, there will be about 1,500 school kids come through. We show the kids how to pan, sell them some
rock and just have a good time. We will need some volunteers for this event.
The dates are October 10, 11, and 12.
Volunteers Need:
You know how late at night a
great idea hits you? Well, I had one of those great ideas. Often times Doug and
I will get a call from a person brand spanking new to prospecting. They’ve got the fever, they’ve got it bad. They come to meeting, not even knowing how to
pan. I would like a volunteer to set up
a panning tub at the meeting to show these new people how to start
panning. I will bring all the stuff for
the August meeting; hopefully I will get a volunteer. Please remember you don’t
have to be a great panner, just be able to show some one the basics.

Final Thoughts:
I want to see and hear your
golden stores at the August meeting.
