August 2010 Newsletter
The
August 14, 2010 meeting will be at 11:00 am at the
July Auction:
First of all, we want to thank both Doug Foster and Tom Gabriel for
their “expertise” auctioneering skills at our July meeting. Fun was had by all and they definitely kept
us all entertained! Some of the items up
for auction included geodes from Sheffler’s Rock
Shop, autographed gold pans and a gold nugget.
Proceeds from the auction went to the food pantry in
August 14 Meeting:
Judy tells us that we’ll be grilling pork
steaks (meat is provided by the chapter). Of course, we’ll
still need your delicious side dishes, desserts and drinks. At the end of the day, remember to take any
leftovers home with you.
Do you
remember the raffle our chapter held for the St. Luke Church Youth Group earlier this year? Some of their leaders and youth will be
presenting a slide show at our August meeting featuring the mission work they
did while on their trip to
Dave Arnold, GPAA State Director of
Texas, plans to join
us at our August meeting. He is bringing
our chapter a five gallon bucket full of concentrates from the

Remember we have a raffle at each of regular meetings and we really appreciate all of you who continue to contribute items each
month. We’ll be featuring more gold prospecting related items starting in August.
Shirt Order:
We understand that Steve Wolak, our store
keeper, will be placing another order for shirts starting in August. He is checking on prices for both the blue
shirts and gray t-shirts and he should have this info when we meet.
