January 2008 Newsletter

 

PLEASE NOTE THE CHILI FEED AND CABIN FEVER MEETING HAS BEEN CHANGED TO JANUARY 19TH AT 11:00.  IF YOU KNOW OF ANYONE WHO WAS PLANNING ON COMING AND IS NOT ON OUR MAILING LIST, PLEASE LET THEM KNOW.

 

2ND Annual Chili Feed and Cabin Fever Meeting: The club will provide the chili,, you bring the fixing. There will be corn bread, 2 boxes of crackers, onions and cheese. We need a 2 more boxes of crackers, some desserts and pop. Call Doug and let him know what you’re bringing. Our number is 816-358-1847.

 

 Please remember to bring your own bowl and spoon. One thing I would like to mention, I enjoy pot lucks. I enjoy everything about them.  However, one thing that is becoming a problem is the amount of food that is being left over. Please bring something and also take it home or make arrangements for someone else to take it home. O.K. I’ll get off my soap box.

 

We have the building all day, so bring any concentrates and equipment; we’ll stay until all the gold’s found or 24 hours which ever comes first.  Doug and I will be there at 10:00, meeting starts at 11:00.  This is a great time to bring people who are interested in Gold Prospecting. They will see GOLD.  Doug and I would like to extend an invitation, to all the new people who have called and talked to us about the club, to attend this meeting and get acquainted.  

 

There will be a small raffle to help pay for the building.

 

Richard and Gail Heorman have been cleaning out closets and are going to have a mini garage sale, all proceeds going to the club. What doesn’t sell goes to good will.

 

2008 Meeting:  The following meeting dates have been set.  Most meetings will be at the Wellington, MO Fair Building.

January 12          March 8                      July 12                       November 8          

February 9          June 14                       August 9                                                   

 

 

April 2008 Meeting: The April meeting will be the 18th, 19th and 20th.  The meeting will be held at the Mays and we are having a pig roast, metal detector hunt and election of officers.  More on this later.

 

Thermal City:  The dates for Thermal City are May 15th & 16th. Plan to attend. This is always a great time.

 

Final Thoughts: Doug and I are planning our trips for the summer, what about you??
