June 12 Meeting: Since a lot of the officers will be in
Thermal City, NC there will not be a official meeting, but there will be an
informal gathering in Lexington, MO. at 11:00 a.m. Direction will be included in the snail mail
mailing. Those with e-mail will have the
info on their e-mail. Anyone else who

The June informal gathering at Lexington; The chapter will be providing
cold soft drinks. We are not planning a
big meal, but feel free to bring snacks or finger food if you like. Remember
to bring a lawn chair.
GPAA Gold and Treasure Show in Oklahoma City: Hope everyone had a
great time at the GPAA Gold and Treasure Show on May 22-23. Be ready to tell us your experiences.
Thermal City Common Dig: Some of our chapter members will be going
to Thermal City Gold Mine in North
Carolina for a 2-day common dig on June 10 &
June 11. Contact Larry and Carol
Coffman at lrrycarol@aim.com if you plan on participating or they can be reached by
phone at 913-306-7313. The cost is $125
for the 2-day common dig and this fee includes your time at the panning troughs
for those two days. Bring something
for the cookout and potluck dinner that we usually have on Thursday
evening. After we eat, Lloyd Nanney
visits with us and explains the mining history of the area. We’ll have the “gold split” at the end of the
second day, and then everyone heads into town on Friday evening to enjoy dinner
together at a local restaurant.
Directions to Thermal City: On I-40, take Exit 85 near Marion, North Carolina
and head south on Highway 221. Thermal City
is located around 8 miles south just off Hwy 221 on your left between Marion
and Rutherfordton, North Carolina. Look for the signs. Thermal

July meeting: Will be Held in Wellington, MO
on July 10, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. The
chapter will provide the meat if all will bring a side dish, dessert, drinks or
a small donation to help cover costs. And maybe an item for the raffle.
August meeting: Will be August
14 at 11:00 a.m. at Wellington, MO.
Potluck dinner.
Tom Gabriel message to chapter: Tom would like to say a big Thank You to all
the members of the chapter for the donation to hospice and all the thoughts and
prayers you sent to him and his family.
Final Thoughts: Make new friends, but keep the old. One is silver and the other gold. Friendship will keep a smile on your face and
in your heart.
